If you live in one of 11 Greater Cincinnati school districts, a tax issue is waiting on your ballot today. FOX19 reports that 11 districts are each proposing a levy, and for many, the outcome decides whether cuts come to programs or positions. Almost all have already made cuts this year.
- Income tax levies: Fairfield, Franklin, Lebanon, North College Hill, Northwest, Southwest
- Property tax levies: Cincinnati, Sycamore, Winton Woods
- Bethel Tate: extending a fixed-sum operating levy
- Lakota: $223 million replacement bond for its master facilities plan
Cincinnati Public Schools is asking for a five-year, 7-mill operating levy expected to generate about $66.3 million a year for more than 34,000 students. CPS has a calculator on its website to figure your own cost.

That's about $122.50 per half-year tax bill for the proposed 7-mill levy.

“There is nowhere else to cut without eliminating some of the programming that Cincinnati is so fond of, some of the programming that we're known for, our Montessori program, for example.”
Shauna Murphy, CPS superintendent
The district says the levy is needed to keep schools functioning normally, or else it risks the state taking over. Leaders have called it a "last resort."
